SINCE 1932

In 1932, a tannery workshop located in Bort-les-Orgues in central France decided to transform into a leather goods workshop. This is the birth of SOCO (Company selling worked leather objects). This crucial decision marked the
creation of SOCO, a brand that would challenge and redefine the traditional handbag market in the 1980s. Renowned for its innovative designs, SOCO captured a population of free-spirited and independent women with contemporary designs.

SOCO has distinguished itself by a mixture of materials and bright colors, serving designs that are both identifiable and functional. His most iconic collection, “San Diego”, quickly gained international fame and even found success in many foreign markets such as Japan and the United States.

THE FOUNDERS

In 2022, SOCO experienced a revival thanks to three young entrepreneurs: two sisters-in-law, “Marie Mignon”, and an Antoinette, are collectively the “MARIES-ANTOINETTE”, a nod to the French elegance of said queen .

Their varied backgrounds in the fields of fashion, law and digital, a common passion for fashion and free thought led them to undertake together the rejuvenation of the SOCO brand.

Collaboration

SOCO

In 2022, for its 90th anniversary, SOCO returns with a collection of bags in collaboration with daring Portuguese grandmothers.

Together with the grandmothers of “A Avo Veio de Trabalhar”, SOCO developed the embroidery design found in bags or on accessories. Each embroidery is done by hand and is therefore unique.

EMBROIDERY

For this collection, SOCO has reworked its timeless models to make them more urban and suitable for everyday life. SOCO's desire is to support craftsmanship and allow the different actors to participate in the
production line.

AVO VEIO TRABALHAR

Creative center in Lisbon dedicated to learning, sharing and empowerment. Its slogan is “OLD IS THE NEW YOUNG”, like the rebellious, rock'n'roll and eternally young women who make it up.
